The Acura RDX is a small sized luxury sport utility vehicle, which is introduced to give tough competition to other small sized sport utility vehicles such as the Land Rover's LR2 and BMW X3. It facilitates seating arrangement for five people and has a slight facelift for 2010 model year.
2010 Acura RDX Review
For the current year, the 2010 Acura RDX gets the large Acura-family grille, and other rear- and front-end design tweaks. This vehicle is also available in a new front-wheel-drive edition, which Acura claims to be more fuel efficient than the all-wheel-drive RDX.
Under the hood, this vehicle has a super handling all-wheel drive that can handle torque distribution to the rear and front wheels and between the right and left rear wheels. This system is developed to enhance the handling response of RDX. For this year, there is also a choice of a front-wheel drive-train too.
Coming to standard mechanical features, this vehicle is designed with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine to develop 240 horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque. The engine is connected to variable valve timing with Variable Flow Turbo of Acura to minimize turbo lag, coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters behind steering wheel.
Exterior and Interior
A large grille of Acura is mounted on the new Acura RDX. Some other changes for 2010 include new taillights and headlights, redesigned rear- and front ends, and new exhaust tips. Last but not the least, this vehicle looks bulkier and more closely resembles the other Acura versions, but its lot agile than ever before.
